## Topics
The International Conference on Quantum Error Correction (QEC) is the leading annual international conference for students and researchers working on quantum error correction, covering both theoretical and experimental research and advances. The scientific objective of QEC is to bring the community together to present and discuss the latest progress towards fault-tolerant quantum computation.

Areas of interest for QEC include, but are not restricted to:
- quantum error correcting codes, including topological, LDPC and subsystem codes
- bosonic and hardware-efficient codes
- fault-tolerant protocols, gadgets and architectures
- decoders, decoding algorithms and real-time classical processing
- resource estimation for fault-tolerant quantum computing
- characterisation, verification and benchmarking of quantum error correction
- experimental demonstrations of quantum error correction and fault tolerance
- control systems and hardware for quantum error correction
- error mitigation and its interplay with error correction
- connections between quantum error correction and condensed-matter physics, quantum information theory and computer science

## Submission Guidelines

Submissions are solicited for contributed talks and for posters. Accepted talks will be presented orally at the conference. In line with the QEC charter, **the conference has no published proceedings**, so submitting to QEC does not preclude publication elsewhere, and already published material is welcome provided it is still current and of interest to the community.

It is possible to present a poster if a submission is not accepted for a talk, and poster-only submissions are also possible. Poster submissions are generally accepted unless they are off-topic or clearly wrong, so that participants can obtain travel funding.

Conference talks are recorded and made publicly available soon after the conference.

### Submission Format

All submissions should include *both* an extended abstract and a technical version, submitted as two separate PDF files.

#### Extended Abstract
- At most 3 pages (excluding references), containing a non-technical, clear, and insightful description of the main ideas, results, their impact, and relationship with concurrent and prior work.
- This extended abstract will be used to evaluate the originality and importance of the results.
- The submission should begin with a title and a list of authors.
- The text must be in a single-column format, use at least 11-point fonts, and have reasonable margins.
- If the work is currently under submission to, has been accepted at, or has been presented at any other conference(s) or workshop(s), this should be indicated on the first page of the submission.

#### Technical Manuscript
- No page limit. Authors are encouraged to use the "full version" of their paper.
- The submission should begin with a title, a list of authors, and a short abstract.
- This manuscript will be used to verify the correctness of the submission if necessary.
- Even if the manuscript is available in an online repository, a PDF copy must be uploaded. If the submission consists of multiple papers, they should be merged into a single file.

The Programme Committee reserves the right to decide how to treat submissions that deviate from the above format, including rejection of submissions solely on the basis of their format.

### Poster submissions
Talk submissions that are not retained will automatically be considered for the poster session. In addition, you can submit your work for a poster-only presentation.

Poster-only submissions must either consist of a short summary (2 pages) of the work, or follow the guidelines above.

### Important note: talk submission to multiple conferences
As a research community, our goal is that contributed talks at quantum information conferences reflect the breadth of our field. We therefore discourage the parallel submission of works that were previously accepted or presented as talks at a conference with a similar scope.

On the first page of your submission, indicate if your work is currently under submission to, has been accepted at, or has been presented at any other conference or workshop, as a talk. If that is the case, quickly discuss the reason for the multiple submissions as well as significant differences relative to these submissions or venues. The assessment of this information is at the Programme Committee's discretion.

Getting to Paris

Paris is served by two international airports, Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to the north-east and Orly (ORY) to the south. Both are connected to the city centre by public transport; from Charles de Gaulle, the RER B runs directly to Saint-Michel–Notre-Dame, a short walk from the conference venue. Paris is also well connected by high-speed rail to much of western Europe, and we encourage participants to travel by train where that is practical.
